That’s why Barden Ridge is one of my favourite local spots to shoot. Especially upon sunset! With beautiful bushland setting and that golden glow of natural light! It’s the perfect backdrop. There’s no pressure to perform—just honest, down-to-earth portraits that capture real family moments.

Honouring Kate Palisi Through Community, Connection, and Portraits That Matter

Late last year, our community faced a heartbreaking loss—the beautiful Kate Palisi. She left behind her four gorgeous children and husband, Nick. I was lucky enough to know Kate over the past four years. She always had a smile, always had time for a chat, and she’ll be missed deeply by so many.

In December, I had the privilege of supporting the Palisi family during their community fundraising event in Menai. I donated two portrait sessions, and the lovely Clowe family were the silent auction winners of one of them. Photographing them was an absolute joy—and a reminder that photography is about so much more than just pictures. It’s about connection, memory, and meaning.
