Capturing Family Memories in Port Stephens
A Beautiful Reunion With Robert and Diana’s Family
It feels like just yesterday I was photographing Robert and Diana’s wedding at the picturesque Inner Lighthouse in Nelson Bay. Fast forward to October 2024, and I had the joy of reconnecting with them. This time, for something a little different: an extended family photography session in Port Stephens.
As a photographer, there’s something truly special about working with past clients again. It’s a sign of trust, comfort, and the kind of connection that makes these sessions feel more like catching up with old friends.

A Garden Full of Meaning
Before we hit the beach, we started somewhere much closer to the heart. Robert’s parents’ backyard. During the quiet months of COVID, his parents had poured their time and love into creating the most beautiful garden and it showed. With lush greenery, winding plants and lovingly tended spaces, the garden offered a peaceful and deeply personal backdrop for their portraits.
It wasn’t just pretty, it told a story. Every flowerbed and leafy corner spoke of dedication and resilience, making it the perfect setting to begin our session.

Corlette beach, here we come!
From there, we made our way down to Corlette Beach. Which is also one of my all-time favourite locations for family photography in Port Stephens. The gardens along the waterfront were blooming beautifully, offering vibrant colour and texture to the scene.
We kicked off our shoes, got a little sandy.

Wrapping Up at The Anchorage Rock Wall
To end the session, we wandered to the Anchorage to rock wall. That magical moment right before the sun says goodbye for the day. It was the perfect way to wrap up a relaxed, love-filled shoot.
