If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you try to schedule a family photo session in the midst of rain, let me tell you—it can still be fun and do-able!

On what was supposed to be a picturesque morning by the Tanilba Bay Boardwalk, the weather had other plans. We were greeted not by the usual sunny smiles but by showers and rain clouds. So, with umbrellas at the ready and our hopes not too dampened, we set off to find a more sheltered spot.

Enter “The Temple” at Tanilba House—a hidden gem and, fortunately, a place that wasn’t quite as wet as the boardwalk.

Rob’s 70th birthday was the star of the show, and the family reunion at Koala Shores, Tanilba Bay. Rob’s crew is a hearty bunch, with five children, their partners, and a grand total of eight grandchildren. They’d traveled from all corners of the country—Albury, Wagga Wagga, the Gold Coast, and Brisbane—all converging to celebrate Dad’s / Pop’s big 7-0.

Picture this: a whirlwind of family members jumping in and out of the Temple, throwing umbrellas when the time was right to smile at the camera, and trying to keep dry while posing for the camera. It was a bit like a scene from a slapstick comedy, but with fewer pratfalls and more heartfelt smiles.

The sun may not have shone, but it didn’t dampen the spirits. Each family member braved the drizzle and showed an overwhelming sense of togetherness.

So here’s to Rob, who’s not just a year older but surrounded by a family who clearly thinks the world of him—rain or shine. Here’s to 70 years of life, love, and, of course, a family who knows how to make the best of any situation. Cheers to many more years of adventures, both wet and dry!
