Kirsty and Harrison travelled from Port Macquarie to be wed in their favorite town – Port Stephens
The Retreat, Anna Bay was their one stop wedding spot. The Retreat not only is a stunning setting for a wedding ceremony, overlooking the bush land and neighboring Sand dunes.
I would love to write a lovely blog about Kirsty and Harrison’s wedding, But unfortunately I left it a bit late, and am writing this blog two years after their wedding. opps. My goal is to post all blogs immediately after delivering their photos, so this wont happen in the future. Because it’s really hard to write ones love story a few years after it’s been told. No video to watch back on their vows.
Kirsty and Harrison reached out to me from the lovely girls at The Retreat’s recommendation. As K&H were from Port Macquarie, we hadnt had the chance to meet before hand. But that was no worry at all, with their fun and active personalities, We had a great time with throwing in some fun photos with their guests as well as doing the bum shake photograph with their flower girls (This was a reference from K&H wedding ceremony, I believe Kristy likes to bust it on the dance floor)!
My time with Kirsty & Harrison was a quick 4 short hours, But gee, we captured a lot!
Their wedding was a fun party atmosphere, they even went non-traditional and had their wedding cake / cupcake tower, awaiting them as they departed their aisle, (Kirsty in Harrison’s arms). Cake cutting at the end of the aisle!
During cake eating time, We found it a great opportunity to capture the guests couple and group photos. I love creating guests images, as It’s the perfect thank you gift that my couples can gift to their guests, to thank them for coming.
After the formal family photographs were had, we stepped over the gate and into the neighboring sand dunes. Enter at your own risk!
I LOVE the dunes, especially from The Retreat, as you don’t need a car to get there! We had a great time walking through the green overgrown to reach endless sand, and sand and sand .. No it wasn’t planet bong (Little Kindom reference), But the beautiful sand dunes of Port Stephens.
K&H were even keen to run up the tall sand dune that over towered us to get the memorable (and two of these images being award winning images).
Pizza was on the menu for the reception supplied by Flamin Pizza’s and boy, were they yummy!
Garden games were set up for the guests to play with, and dad’s disco gear from his days as a DJ were set up for the nights endless dancing, though I left just after entering the reception, so was not able to enjoy the music festivities.
Loved this wedding. The Retreat is certainly a fabulous wedding reception location for fun and those stunning backdrops!
